Artwork is packaged very well, ensuring that your item is well cushioned and secure and to avoid any damage in transit appropriate packaging materials are used. Drift Glass & Ceramics uses the following mail services:
Royal Mail 1st Class, 2nd Class, Signed For, Special Delivery and Courier Companies which include DPD and UPS. For overseas customers, Royal Mail Airmail (standard, or tracked and insured services) and Couriers are also used where appropriate.
It is advised when purchasing original art that you choose Special Delivery, or request a tracked and insured service to ensure your items arrive safely.
Overseas customers note: Any customs tax or duties to be paid are the responsibility of the customer and you must be aware of this when ordering.
Please note that there is no insurance with Signed For services.
Dispatch of your order will generally be within 1 - 5 working days. Please allow for longer during busy times, or if its a commission item.
Receipts are always obtained as proof of postage when using Royal Mail.
Payments must have been made and cleared through Paypal before we will ship in any circumstance.
Important note about glass art: **Most courier services consider glass to be a restricted item for carriage. Most courier companies do not offer any insurance or compensation on items shipped which include glass and you should bear this in mind when ordering framed work that is glazed**. Please be aware of this when ordering framed art, in the instance of damage or non delivery you may not be able to make a claim for compensation.

Depending upon the postage option you chose, you may be able to claim compensation for lost items. I have proof of postage receipts or courier documents for all orders sent out, and will be happy to forward copies of these on to you to help assist you with your claim. Damaged Goods:
Please contact me immediately using driftglassandceramics@gmail.com
If your goods have been damaged in transit, then as the shop owner it is my responsibility to make the situation right for you - whether that is by way of a replacement, repair or a refund. You will need to provide details of the damage (photographs), and details of how it happened. Please note: If your goods are delivered intact, and damage takes place after delivery (for example, if the parcel has been left with a neighbour or in a safe space, this is no longer classed as my responsibility and refunds or replacements will not be possible).
Please note that if you require a replacement we can send this to you if we have one in stock, otherwise we will need up to 14 days to re-make a piece for you. NB* for commissions and bespoke pieces re-making a replacement piece is at the artists discretion depending on workload at the time and complexity of the piece. **If a replacement cannot be made the customer will receive a refund in full.
Commission art:
A commission piece of work is undertaken on the basis that the work is carried out in the style of the artist. A non-refundable deposit may be payable before work commences, we will discuss this with you.
I will work with the customer throughout the design process providing sketch designs for the customer who will confirm which design is to be used as the final art piece. Changes are permissible at this stage. Once the customer has confirmed the design then work will commence on the final piece.
Please note that once confirmation on the final artwork has been received, I will be working from the chosen design and major changes to the artwork from this stage onwards will not be accepted.
Please be very certain that you are happy for me to commence work on the final piece and to make any changes before your final confirmation is given. Any changes or additions that are made during or after its completion are done so at the discretion of the artist and may incur extra charges to the original quote to cover additional time and materials used. The quote for commission work includes all materials, shipping, and the time that has been calculated to complete the piece of art.
The final payment for the artwork will be payable upon completion of the artwork.
Unwanted commission work:
When you commission a piece of work with the artist you are entering into a commitment with the artist. The item of work is to be paid for in full and no refunds will be issued, this is due to the personal nature of a commission piece and the fact that it may not be re-saleable by the artist because of this reason.
